MARCH 2019 UPDATE

As the new season starts for many innovation challenges, competitions and prize awards to startups, we think back to AutoHarvest’s launch in 2010, a barren time for such events with limited traditional companies investing in external R&D outside of universities. The yield is a deep and broadening ecosystem spawning vibrant mobility hotspots in Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, and across China. Detroit too. New things are happening here with the new Urban Solutions Initiative at Wayne State and this is our 4th year as knowledge partner with IAM for the Auto IP conferences in Detroit and Munich, collectively the largest intellectual property in automotive series.

This month’s featured members are boggling the mind with mobility software that includes diagnostics for a safer journey, unique vehicle signatures to thwart hackers and my favorite, the app controlled smart digital display backpacks, the ultimate socialization tool. Personal billboards?
